Benet Brandreth QC was called to the Bar in 1999 and took silk in 2018. He is a specialist Intellectual Property barrister who has appeared in tribunals ranging from the UK Intellectual Property Office to the UK Court of Appeal and the European Court of Justice. Prior to taking silk, Benet was a member of the Attorney-General’s A Panel of Counsel, whose members advise on the most complex of government cases. He is described by Chambers and Partners as “a very bright and determined advocate who is very good at persuading judges.”
Benet has been an advocacy trainer for the Middle Temple for many years. He won the World Student Public Speaking Competition in 1996 and 2000, as well as the Richard DuCann Memorial Prize for Excellence in Advocacy in 2000. Benet is also the rhetoric coach for the Royal Shakespeare Company and delivers rhetoric workshops to audiences as diverse as the US Naval Academy and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
