Adrian Whitfield QC was called to the Bar in 1964 and took silk in 1983. Starting in general common law practice, he gradually came to specialise in all aspects of medical law. Over the years,, Adrian has served as Recorder, Deputy High Court Judge and Chairman of the National Health Service Tribunal. He was elected Treasurer of Middle Temple for 2005.
Adrian has chaired the Middle Temple Education Committee, served as Director of Middle Temple Advocacy and authored ‘The Art of Persuasion: Tradition and Technique’, a book which explores the history of advocacy and rhetoric. Since retiring from practice in 2010, Adrian has channelled his legal experience and expertise into training advocates and promoting excellence at the Bar.
